Adopt-a-Girl-Child

“Adopt-a-Girl-Child” Empowerment Program

Change One Life. Impact a Generation.

In many communities across South Africa, girls grow up without the safety, support, and empowerment they deserve. The Adopt-a-Girl-Child Empowerment Program is EFED’s flagship initiative that gives caring donors the opportunity to sponsor the protection, education, and personal development of a vulnerable girl.

What Your Support Means

Each donation to this program ensures that a girl:

  • Has access to life-skills mentorship, emotional support, and role-modeling from EFED-trained fathers and facilitators.
  • Attends self-defense and safety workshops.
  • Receives menstrual hygiene packs, school supplies, and empowerment resources.
  • Is included in group sessions that teach confidence, personal agency, and gender-based violence prevention.
  • Gains access to long-term empowerment tools—helping her grow into a confident, secure woman.

Why This Program Matters

Girls are disproportionately affected by:

  • Gender-based violence
  • Limited access to mentorship
  • Poor sexual health education
  • Lack of role models and emotional support

This initiative closes those gaps by connecting them with trained male mentors, creating safer communities, and reshaping fatherhood narratives.

Donating to EFED qualifies you for a Section 18A Tax Certificate under the South African Income Tax Act. This means:

  • You’ll receive an official certificate at the end of the financial year for submission to SARS.
