EFED was founded in South Africa to confront a growing concern: the disconnect between fathers and their daughters in modern society. Our mission is simple yet transformative — to restore, empower, and support the vital role of the father in the family unit, particularly in the upbringing and protection of girls.

Our work is community-driven, evidence-informed, and grounded in the belief that empowered fathers raise balanced, confident children — both daughters and sons.

We are a registered non-profit operating across all nine provinces in South Africa. Our team includes social workers, educators, mentors, and community leaders who design and implement programs that tackle issues such as gender-based violence, absent fatherhood, poor male role modeling, and the need for protective parenting.

EFED is not just a program — it’s a movement of men rising to meet the needs of the next generation.
