Why Volunteer With EFED?

In a world where many girls grow up without guidance, protection, or the positive influence of a father figure, you can help change the narrative. EFED exists to equip and empower fathers and male guardians to be present, responsible, and loving leaders in their daughters’ lives.

By volunteering, you become a vital part of this mission—whether through mentorship, logistics, community outreach, or simply being a positive role model.

Ways You Can Contribute

We welcome people from all walks of life who are passionate about protecting and uplifting girls by strengthening the men who raise them. Here are some key areas where volunteers make an impact:

Workshop Support

  • Assist with setup, registration, and materials for fatherhood training workshops
  • Provide hospitality and coordination for guest speakers and attendees

Mentorship & Outreach

  • Mentor young fathers or support male guardians in rural communities
  • Visit schools to share EFED’s programs and build partnerships

Event Coordination

  • Help organize community events, campaigns, and empowerment days
  • Act as an MC, facilitator, or logistics coordinator for special programs

Marketing & Social Media

  • Capture photos, create content, or manage live social media during events
  • Distribute posters and flyers in your neighborhood, church, or school

Fundraising & Membership Drive

  • Support our donor campaigns and member sign-up drives
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for EFED’s message in your network

Adopt-a-Girl-Child Support

  • Help package care kits, deliver educational materials, or facilitate mentorship sessions
  • Coordinate with schools and local officials to identify at-risk girls

What We Provide

All volunteers receive:

  • Orientation and training
  • EFED t-shirt, name badge, and volunteer toolkit
  • Access to exclusive workshops and personal development sessions
  • Monthly recognition and appreciation initiatives
  • Opportunities for leadership roles and professional networking
  • Transport stipend (for field-based volunteers in approved locations)

Volunteer Expectations

To maintain our standards of impact and integrity, volunteers should:

  • Commit to a minimum of 5 hours per month (flexible scheduling available)
  • Uphold EFED’s core values of empathy, respect, empowerment, and equity
  • Sign our Volunteer Agreement and complete an onboarding session
  • Communicate reliably and participate in team check-ins

Who Can Volunteer?

You can apply if you are:

  • 18 years or older (minors can volunteer with parental consent and supervision)
  • Passionate about gender equity, youth development, or family transformation
  • A student, professional, retiree, or community member with a heart for impact
  • Located in any of South Africa’s provinces—we have branches nationwide

Corporate & Group Volunteering

EFED welcomes volunteer groups from:
